John Mendoza supports efforts related to the Center’s daily operations, including monitoring and reporting on projects and programs, communications, and coordination of programs and events.
Prior to joining Center EDGE, John worked as an Assistant Director of Outreach at USC’s Financial Aid Office, representing the university at on- and off-campus events where he liaised with prospective, admitted, and continuing undergraduate and graduate students. He has also served as a Program Assistant at USC’s Neighborhood Academic Initiative (NAI), a college access and success program for students in South and East Los Angeles.
John is a South Los Angeles native and first-generation college student who attended Manual Arts High School before USC, where he earned a Bachelor of Arts in Economics and Master of Education in Educational Counseling. A Gates Millennium Scholar, John is currently pursuing his Doctor of Education (Ed.D.) in Educational Leadership at the USC Rossier School of Education.
